Using My Account

Access your Rockville Public Library Account from home by visiting our web page at and clicking on the “My Account “ button on the top of the page. That will take you to this page:

Enter your library barcode number and your password. You can then renew books, place books on reserve, check on your holds, and also keep track of what materials you have taken out!

There are tabs that will give you different options:

Account Summary – when your card expires,  items you have checked out, items you have on hold, holds ready to pick up, any fines you currently have and fine you have previously paid.

Messages – message the library has sent to you.

Items Checked Out – all of the items you have checked out.

Holds – all of your holds (books you have requested)

Account Preferences – this has a lot of good information (see below)

My Lists – lists of whatever you want, for example books you would like to read in the future, favorite authors


What is in the Account Preferences tab?

Personal Information – names, address, phone, email, your barcode, and a place to change your password.

Notification preferences – how you want to be notified about holds that have come in – phone, email, text (if available).

Search & History Preferences – how many hits will come up in a search, preferred library to search, where to have holds sent, start a history of items you have checked out, start a history of holds you have had.

My Lists Preferences – how many items and how many lists per page.
