As many libraries close due to Coronavirus making it hard for some community members to participate in the 2020 Census, please “[r]emember, another safe, easy, and quick way to respond is via telephone, toll free. The number for English speakers is 844-330-2020, and there are additional phone numbers for more than a dozen other languages. Census answers will be taken by real people who have taken oaths of confidentiality, not by a computer or voice mail system. Find more detail and additional phone numbers at https://2020census.gov/en/ways-to-respond/responding-by-phone.html. To see the form and the questions that will be asked, go to https://2020census.gov/en/about-questions.html.” (Maria Bernier, CT State Library)
Invitation to participate in 2020 Census will be arriving soon. Check your mailbox between March 12 and 20 and make sure your household responds – either by mail, phone or online. Community members speaking languages other than English can respond in their native language (langue support page for those responding by phone: click here)
“The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade. […] The results will show where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children.” (2020census.gov)
