The Rockville Public Library will hold its 6th Annual Community Tree Festival from Friday, December 2nd to Friday, December 16th, with an Opening Reception on December 2nd from 4:30 - 7:00 pm. The Vernon Volunteer Firefighters Association is seeking contributions of new toys and financial donations for their annual TOYS FOR TIKES drive. Each Christmas the firefighters distribute these toys to the community’s less fortunate children. On Nov. 3 at 6:30 pm, join us for a launch of Pegi Deitz Shea's first book for adult readers, The Weight of Kindling (Grayson Books). A reception and book signing will follow the reading. Shea will have copies of her new poetry book as well as her children’s books for sale.

This Saturday (Oct. 22) at 11:00 am local author, Linda Zajac, presents a lively interactive STEM program. Participants will move like robots, hear stories about biomimicry, learn how an idea becomes a book, and watch real robots as they skitter, scuttle, and crawl. Afterwards, kids will make a giraffe robot that moves up and down.
Judy Handler and Mark Levesque, husband and wife duo, will play their own unique arrangements of swing, 60s-70s pop, Celtic, as well as some favorite international selections. Join us for an evening of guitar and mandolin music on Oct. 20th at 6:30 pm - you can RSVP here.
