Borrow audiobooks, eBooks and magazines from OverDrive
Use your library card to access free e-books and e-audiobooks through the Libby and SimplyE apps.
The Libby app provides Vernon patrons with access to e-materials purchased by RPL or made available through the Bibliomation consortium. Get started by downloading it to your device from here. If you need help, refer to the app’s support page. Libby is available for both Android and iOS phones, tablets, including Kindles.
The previous version of Libby, Overdrive, is still available to those who wish to use it and connects to all the same materials as Libby. You can access the Overdrive homepage here: https://bibliomation.overdrive.com/

Patrons can borrow materials from the Connecticut State Library’s collections with SimplyE. Developed by the New York Public Library, SimplyE is an open-source app available for both Android and iOS phones, tablets, and e-readers. It allows users to easily check out, and read or listen to digital content from multiple collections all in one place. The app includes content that is available in the statewide collection from the Connecticut State Library. This includes:
- Baker & Taylor Axis 360 [1,819 items]
- Biblioboard [1,131 items]
- DPLA Exchange [4,171 items]
- DPLA Open Bookshelf [8,500 titles]
- NYPL Instant Classics [6,473 titles]
- RBdigital [4,349 items]
Download the SimplyE app from the Google Play or the Apple App Store, select your home library, then enter your library card number and PIN.
