2nd Annual Vernon Go Green event is Saturday, 4/18. Join us at the library between 10am and 1pm for informative sessions and fun activities for all ages.

Below is a list of scheduled events:

  • Trash Pick Up // 9:00am (meet on the library’s front lawn)
    • Join other community members in an effort to clean up our downtown area.
  • Touch-A-Truck // 10:00am – 1:00pm
    • Touch-a-truck event with recycling activities for all ages with Vernon Public Works Department.
  • Community Organizations // 10:00am – 1:00pm
    • Meet community organizations’ representatives to learn more about their work.
  • Recycled Art // 10:00am – 1:00pm (Peck Room)
    • Create your own art piece from upcycled materials.
  • Live Here Love Trees – Tree Education Workshop // 10:30am – 12:00pm
    • Learn all the facts from a CT licensed arborist. Open to all Vernon residents. Learn about the role of urban trees, their care & maintenance. Residents may qualify for a free native tree & installation by a CT licensed contractor! Participants receive a free Live Here-Love Trees T-shirt. Pre-registration is encouraged by contacting Vernon Planning Dept. at Planning@vernon-ct.gov or by phone 860-870-3635.
  • Earth Day Storytime // 11:00am
    • Bring your child to a special Earth Day-themed storytime.
  • Public Information Session // 12:00pm – 1:00pm
    • Learn about the Live Here – Love Trees tree planting and education program and its benefits for the Vernon community, its residents and businesses.
