FROM THE DIRECTOR'S DESK

This year we plan to implement many of the goals in the library strategic plan. The plan was developed from the surveys and focus groups last year and is an excellent tool for providing the kind of library service the people of the community want.

WiFi and Downloadable Books are two services that people wanted. We studied the costs of both, and while expensive, they will be a great enhancement for the library. Both will be installed within the next two months.

We are planning to update our website and add new links that will be helpful to our patrons. Please watch for the changes in the next few months.

Programming is another area we plan to change. There have been quite a few requests for evening and weekend programs.  In the Spring we will sponsor a series of Job programs. This series on Wednesday or Thursday nights will be a partnership between the library and local businesses as a way to provide residents with the information and skills they will need to apply for available jobs.

This is just a small sample of the plans that are in the works for the library. Check in the library, on the website, in the Pipeline Newsletter,  and in the papers for additional information.
