• Rockville Public Library
    Funded and endowed by local textile manufacturer George Maxwell in 1893, Rockville Public Library is a non-profit 501(c)3 library serving the entire town of Vernon, CT. Two thirds of the library's operating costs are paid through the endowment left by the Maxwell Family and by Library Fundraising. The remaining third is paid through our partnership with the Town of Vernon.

    Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

    The 2015 Summer Reading Program
    "Every Hero has a Story" will begin on Wednesday June 17, 2015.

    The calendar of events is posted on the Children's Page as well as the
    link to log into the RPL page to track the books your child has read.

    The program will end on Thursday August 13, 2015.

  • We are changing our hours!

    The Rockville Public Library is changing its hours beginning in July. Starting July 10, 2015 we will close every Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. We usually close on Saturdays during the summer. When we return to regular hours in September, the library will continue closing on Friday and Saturday afternoons at 1:00 p.m.  The two half-day closings represent eight fewer hours of service each week For the full statement by the Library Director, Click Here.

  • Beth Mariotti, Director of Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, will give an overview of the process, resources and tools researchers use to uncover their family histories. Godfrey is a library of Genealogy, History and Biography

    New researchers will learn how to start, what information is out there, and how to find and use it.

    Experienced researchers will benefit from tips on search methods and helpful websites.
